Meeting our present needs without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.
Sustainability integrates the social, economic and environmental aspects of our lives. A sustainable household is one that is run with more awareness of the longer term, so that decisions of today create less damage to natural ecosystems. Future generations will depend on this for the basics of clean water, food and air; and no waste of non-renewable resources that our grandchildren may need. In the process it could become a cheaper household to run and also a healthier one.
