In January the EcoCentre hosted the first meeting of what is envisioned to be an ongoing network of support for those working for local environmental initiatives. We found there were many areas of overlap in our work and through the network we have access to a much wider range of contacts, information and advice.
It is very easy, especially when you’re the sole paid person, to get so overwhelmed trying to do everything that you forget to prioritise time to share your journey and make those connections!
The next meeting is scheduled for 11th April, on the agenda is Plastic Free July and coordinating our efforts around it.
We’re looking at meeting quarterly. If you’re involved with a group (with paid workers and/or volunteers) that wasn’t represented and would be interested in coming to future meetings please contact Anna or Nancy at the EcoCentre info@ecocentre.co.nz
